Clytemnestra of Sparta

Description

Clytemnestra of Sparta is surely the most fascinating character of the greek myths. Daughter of beautiful Leda - wife of king Tyndareus of Sparta-, she's the twin sister of Helen ( of Troy), Castor and Pollux. Kidnapped twice (as was her more famous sister), married three times, Clytemnestra had a terrible life that drived her to assume a powerfull role that the greeks didn't allow to a woman. Probably even more beautiful than Helen - it's her name that means " famous for her suitors" not Helen's, and Agamemnon - the most powerful of kings - decided to kidnap her from her first husband and force her to marry him -, she will finish by having a dreadfull death...

She's an interesting girl, but I think it is more because of jealousy and blame. Helen caused a lot of women pain during the Trojan War, but most of all she almost led to the death of one of Cly's daughters. Maybe one sister got more because she was fair since that tends to be quite eye catching.

But this is a beautiful piece.
